Prayer Letter – June 2008

Published on 06/06/08

Dear Friends,

Over the past few months God has done some amazing things. Rejoice with us and continue to pray for this vital ministry as we fulfill God’s Great Commission on the mission field of Boise State University.

Praise the Lord for a great opportunity to share the ministry of Campus Bible Fellowship during the Southern Idaho Treasure Valley Missions Conference. It was like “show and tell” for us as several students and CBF staff from our Boise State Chapter shared with the churches stories and testimonies about this year’s great blessings. Pray that God would challenge all these churches to support this important ministry.

Praise the Lord for a safe and successful Spring Retreat. Lake Owyhee in Oregon was our destination for three days of camping, canoeing and some great times of fellowship. The challenge to live a pure and godly life for Christ was the theme of the retreat and was a blessing for all of us. Pray that God would protect and strengthen our students against the temptations of sin.

Praise the Lord for a fantastic year for Campus Bible Fellowship at Boise State. Some of the highlights were; two of our students graduated, two were married, several completed another year of discipleship, and the Christian Service Program provided some great opportunities for our students to minister in our local churches. Pray for God’s wisdom as we plan and prepare for next year’s activities.

Praise the Lord that this summer He has provided the opportunity for us to introduce Campus Bible Fellowship to hundreds of students through Boise State’s New Student Orientation Program. We will be on campus for seven days throughout the summer encouraging students to investigate the relevance of the Bible in their lives through the ministry of C.B.F. Pray for responsive hearts to the Gospel message and the challenge to live for Christ in this secular environment.

Praise the Lord for technological advancements and for people that can teach us how to use them. www.cbfboise.com is our student run website which can serve to keep you informed about all our C.B.F. activities and meetings. And coming soon, Debbie and I will be launching http://rowlandcbf.net-at-hand.com. It is our very own ministry website to keep you up to date about what your C.B.F. missionaries are doing. Pray that God would use these tools for His honor and glorify and help to keep us all connected.

Thank you all once again for your prayer support for us, our family and this ministry. It truly does make a difference as we see the hand of God continuing to work in our lives and those we minister to. Please feel free to share with us what our God has been doing in your lives and be assured of our prayers for each of you.

Together in His service!

Prayer Letter – January 2008

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! We trust you all had a very joy-filled Christmas season and are truly looking forward to another blessed year of serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Since our last letter our God has faithfully continued to answer our prayers and bless like crazy the ministry to which He has called us.

Our Fall Retreat challenged our young people toward living a life of service for Jesus Christ. As a result several students became involved in our local church ministry service projects. Some offered their talents by singing in the choir, some by working in the lighting and sound ministry and others as leaders in AWANA. Two students took up the challenge of leading a weekly children’s Bible club along side one of our local pastors.

Over our past four years of ministry at Boise State University, God has truly blest us with a great team of student and adult leadership. Without these dedicated servants, ministries like our annual thanksgiving banquet, Christmas party and Sunday night dinner and Bible study meetings would not have been so successful. Along with our weekly one on one discipleship program, this semester we are also offering a mid-week small group Bible study using the doctrinal based Disciples in Deed curriculum from Baptist Mid-Missions. As you remember us in prayer, ask God to use our efforts to truly impact our student’s lives for His glory and their good.

We would also greatly appreciate your prayers for safety while traveling and that God would prosper our deputation ministry. Last Fall we traveled to Nevada, North Carolina and California sharing our need for prayer and financial support of this very important university ministry. During February and March we will be speaking in ten churches throughout the Northwest. We do have dates available in the spring and summer if you would like us to present our ministry in your church.

Thank you all for serving with us. The students that we impact also greatly appreciate all that you do as you pray and faithfully support this Great Commission ministry. May God continue to be glorified as we fulfill His will for our lives and the lives of those we touch.

Together in His service!
